Doe Park News
Winter 2012

The New Year is here and we are busy preparing for the coming season. The large shower block is in the process of being refurbished. New cubicles are being installed along with new sinks and vanity units in the wash areas. Work is going according to schedule and will be ready for the site opening in March.

The roads and pitches on the site are being given a new layer of gravel and some have been extended to make more room for larger units. We are now accepting bookings and enquiries for the 2012 season, so please contact us by phone or e-mail if you would like to visit or if we can answer any questions.

Holly and IvyThere have been some new arrivals on the farm over the winter. Just before Christmas one of our cows gave birth to healthy twin calves. This is quite unusual and a real surprise! Both calves are female and we have named them Holly and Ivy – they will grow up on our farm and become part of our herd. Two of our young heifers had their first calves early in the new year, both mothers and babies are doing well.

Lambing timeLambing time will soon be here. The first lambs are due to be born in early March. The expectant ewes are getting rounder tummies and are receiving extra feed, vitamins and minerals to ensure they are fit and healthy when their lambs arrive.

The early signs of Spring are starting to appear; the snowdrops are growing in the orchard, the daffodils are pushing through the ground and the birds are starting to sing. As the days gradually begin to get longer and the weather improves we look forward to welcoming visitors old and new to Doe Park.
